Monday, September 19, 12PM – 1PM: The “What” and “Why” of Accessibility

(an overview; open to all interested in accessibility)

  • Increase awareness about the overall accessibility needs of diverse users and existing resources on campus and online to address those needs
  • Increase awareness about the legal ramifications and ISU policy under development

Tuesday, September 27, 12PM – 1PM: Working One-on-One with Students
(student support staff – academic advisors, disability liaisons, and more)
Registration closes Wednesday, September 21

  • Create awareness of accessibility needs of students and resources on campus
  • Hands-on experience advising students with diverse needs
  • Discuss the law – why we do what we do

Wednesday, October 5, 11:30AM – 1PM: Developing Digital Content for All
(web and instructional designers, IT support staff)
This Session is full. Please register for another session.

  • Review best practices for making digital media accessible
  • Demonstrate technologies to help make media accessible (WAVE, DIY Captioning, MathType)
  • Hands-on experience making web products (sites, courses, etc.) accessible
  • Increase interaction between web and instructional designers across campus

Thursday, October 13, 12PM – 1PM: Top 10 Tips to Make Your Online Course Accessible
(faculty)
Registration closes Friday, October 07

  • Learn 10 basic strategies for creating accessible online course content
  • Explore the Quality Matters framework as a specific approach to address accessibility and usability 
  • Build a timeline for implementing course changes
  • Receive how-to resources that support implementing accessibility

All sessions will be recorded for later viewing.
